The Free Consult

I think perhaps the most important I have to offer a client is a free consult.

I realize an attorney's time is his stock in trade but there are plenty of people I could help who may avoid reaching out to me for fear of incurring a fee.

So, I take this week's blog space up with a very simple request: If you are in a situation in which you think it might be helpful to have an attorney involved, call me. I will give you a free consultation and I will outline for you what, if anything I could do for you and what, if anything, it would cost for me to do it. I will even do it in person since I like to meet the people I help before I get retained by them.

I understand not wanting to spend money sometimes but if I can give up 30 minutes of my time for free to hear you out well then doesn't it make sense that you give up 30 minutes of your time to explain to me your situation to see if I can help?
